Nosferatu at Goethe institut
MARIAH Lookman an artist from Pakistan, who lives and works in
Colombo, works as a Researcher at the International Centre for ethnic
Studies, Colombo and also visiting lecturer at the National College of
Arts, Lahore, Pakistan will introduce two films "Nosferatu" by Friedrich
Wilhelm Murnau, 1922 (silent, b/w and "Nosferatu" by Werner Herzog, 1979
(colour, sound) organised by the Film Forum at Goethe hall, German
Cultural Centre on October 12 at 5.30 p.m.
It will be a comparison between two famous films that have the same
topic and even the same name and are dealing with what cinema is all
about: an obsession. Continuing with the second session, the Film Forum
is meant to become a regular event for film buffs, film freaks, film
critics and film lovers of all ages.
It is a forum for viewing cinema from different times and different
genre, newest productions as well as cinematografic milestones, examples
of good acting, of directorship, of camera, of lights and of sound, of
transferring a plot into "the language of film", allowing thereafter
questions, comparison and statements, all in all a debate on cinema. |
