Traffic plan for nomination day

The Superintendent of Police, Nugegoda Division, has announced the following traffic control on the nomination day today.

Vehicular Traffic will be prohibited along the Sri Jayawardhanapura Mawatha and Old Cotta Road both from the direction of Colombo and from Battaramulla from 08.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m. today.

Therefore vehicle users are informed to use the following alternative routes:

Vehicles from the direction of the Kandy Road and Avissawella Road must proceed along Kaduwela Old Road and come to Colombo via Orugodawatta.

Vehicles from High Level Road must turn from Godagama and proceed to Colombo via Homagama and Maharagama.

Vehicles from Pannipitiya Road must turn from Thalawathugoda Junction and proceed to Colombo via Kimbulawala and Kotte Pagoda Road.

Vehicles via Buthgamuwa to Rajagiriya must turn from I.D.H.Junction and proceed towards Colombo. Vehicles expecting to take the Old Cotta Road from Borella must come to Dematagoda and proceed via Kolonnawa to take the expected route.

Vehicles bound towards Battaramulla along Sri Jayawardhenapura Mawatha must proceed towards Narahenpita and take the route via Nawala Road and Nugegoda.

Residents of the Rajagiriya area using common transport should leave the area before 08.00 a.m. They have to take the route from Kotte Junction and proceed along Nawala Road and Narahenpita Road to go towards Colombo.

Vehicles from the direction of Nawala must turn from Koswatta Junction and proceed along Cooray Mawatha towards Battaramulla.(Passage will be restricted to only vehicles bound towards Battaramulla.)Vehicles coming from Rajagiriya, Etul-Kotte and the Battaramulla area must turn from the Etul-Kotte Post Junction and proceed via Pita-Kotte and Nugegoda to Colombo.
