Asian Aviation begins four UK degree courses

The Academy of Aeronautical Engineering (AAE) of the Asian Aviation Centre inaugurated four UK degree courses in affiliation with the Kingston University UK and two Aeronautical Maintenance Technician Programmes with Kangan Batman Institute of TAFE in Australia on Tuesday.

Deputy Director Studies Dhananjaya Weerasinghe said that employment opportunities in this field will be almost 100 per cent as the Civil Aviation Authority is considering to allow three additional air lines other than SriLankan and there is a huge market from India with 10 air lines coming. Weerasinghe said that there aren't sufficient trained people to employ even in the existing three domestic airlines in the country.

However, the number of students registered for courses have increased significantly this time which means that parents and students are beginning to come to know about the future opportunities which will not only bring foreign exchange to the country but also save exchange by employing local people. AAC has been able to generate employment prospects to all Sri Lankan youth in the aviation and automotive and other industries worldwide so far.
