Orange rewards loyal electrical dealers

The top 20% of the dealers of Orange Electric were felicitated for their contribution in promoting Orange switches and sockets in Sri Lanka over the past six months.

Orange Rewards Night was held at the Fingara Country Club.

These loyalty rewards included, motorcycles, mountain bikes, TVs, camera phones and certificates of appreciation. Orange Electric is Sri Lanka's only electrical switch and socket manufacturer, who offers a lifetime warranty on their products.

Orange switches and sockets comply with the SLS certification, PSB certification of Singapore and JBE standard of Malaysia and have passed all the 22 Indian Standards tests for ISI certification.

All employees of Orange are Sri Lankans and engineering graduates from the universities of Peradeniya and Moratuwa handle all the engineering aspects of the business.

Orange Electric employs over 700 skilled Sri Lankans at their factories and offices around the country and provides more than 20,000 indirect employment opportunities through 3,000 dealers islandwide and a 10,000 member strong Orange Electricians Society.

Managing Director Kushan Kodithuwakku said they sought technical assistance from a foreign company five years ago to upgrade the standards in the manufacture of electrical switches and sockets in Sri Lanka.

But the request was turned down by that company saying that a third world country like Sri Lanka could not afford such advanced technologies. He mentioned that today Orange switches, and sockets are made in Sri Lanka using the latest machinery and in compliance with the highest world standards in quality. Orange switches and sockets are now ready to compete with any foreign brands in their own markets.

He said, this achievement would not have been possible if not for the commitment on the side of their loyal dealers and his staff, who have made Orange the No. One brand in Sri Lanka within a short period of time.

Orange also offers total integrated solutions to architects, engineers, property developers and builders through Orange Solutions the projects division of the company.
