Lankan firm opens $ 16m garment in Bangladesh

A Sri Lankan garment manufacturer has become the first investor in the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone, with a new US$16 million facility that will employ around 4,000 Bangladeshi nationals.

M/s Kenpark Bangladesh Apparel (Pvt) Ltd, the 100 per cent foreign owned company, will produce 48 million garments a year for export to the USA, the UK, Australia, Japan and Canada.
