Navin talks of SLC presidency
NAVIN Dissanayake, MP for Nuwara Eliya district presiding at the
press conference of the all-island inter-club tennis ball cricket
tournament held yesterday at the Sugathadasa Sports Stadium hotel, said
that he wishes to move over to hard ball cricket and work towards
becoming the president of Sri Lanka Cricket.
"There are far too many splits in our cricket administration.
Politics hampers the best being done for the furtherance of the game,"
said Dissanayake.
Navin's father, the late Gamini Dissanayake was a former president of
the Sri Lanka Cricket Board. About 350 clubs will take part in the
forthcoming tournament which is to be held in October, as a run up to
the district and provincial tournament. - [R.D.] |
