Peace Secretariat representatives meet Norwegian Envoy

GOVERNMENT Peace Secretariat representatives met Norwegian Ambassador Hans Brattskar on Wednesday to obtain details about the visit of Former Head of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission Rt. Major General Trond Furuhovde.

Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said the Norwegian Ambassador has assured the Government that details of the former Head of Mission's visit will be conveyed as soon as possible.

Major General Furuhovde is to arrive in Sri Lanka shortly for discussions with the Government and the LTTE on the possibility of agreeing on a modality to strengthen the implementation of the Ceasefire.

The venue for talks on this matter is expected to figure prominently in the discussions. - UK and RM
