Premier, NUA agree to work together

PRIME MINISTER Mahinda Rajapakse has agreed in principle the working arrangement with the National Unity Alliance (NUA) for the Presidential Election.

The Agreement was reached at a meeting with NUA delegation at Temple Trees yesterday, a NUA release said.

The delegation was led by NUA leader Minister Ferial Ashraff. Minister Mangala Samaraweera was also present.

The Prime Minister also discussed matters with regard to the Muslim dimension in the peace process and accepted in principle that to involve the Muslim community at any future peace talks as an independent entity and to resolve the ethnic conflict to the satisfaction of all the communities.
