Help little Mishael

MISHAEL Jehoshua (5) of Bloemendhal Flats, Colombo 14 is suffering from an acute heart ailment and consultant cardiac surgeon Dr. K. Sivakumar of Colombo Apollo Hospital has recommended an early Intracardiac repair high risk surgery to save the child's life.

The estimated cost of surgery amounts to Rs. 395,000 and the President's Fund has granted Rs. 140,000 for the purpose. The child's parents say they are unable to foot the balance due to their present financial plight.

They request philanthropists and general public to send whatever financial assistance possible to save their child's life. All contributions can be remitted to Account No. 8380003874 at the Commercial Bank, Panchikawatta branch.

Obtains Ph.D.

SRI LANKAN student M.A.M. Refai who studied in Al Azhar University of Cairo obtained a Ph.D. in Philosophy with First Class. Refai received Doctorate for his studies in theology. He entered the Al Azhar University in 1994 through a scholarship.

He passed Bachelor of Arts in Faculty of Theology with honours in 1991 and Master of Arts in Theology with excellent grade. He hails from Kotegoda, Hemmathagama.

An old boy of Hemmathagama Al Azhar Maha Vidayalaya and Zahriya Arabic College and Maharagama Arabic College. He is the son of Mohamed Ameen of Kotegoda, Hemmathagama and son-in-law of M.Z.M. Anver of Veyangalla, Agalawatta.
