Two killed in Negombo fire

Two persons were killed and several others injured when fire brokeout at a factory which makes firecrackers at Kimbulagala in the Negombo area at 4.45 p.m. yesterday.

Police and the Negombo Municipal fire fighters were at the scene to bring the fire under control. The injured were taken by private vehicles to the Negombo hospital. Some of them were in a very critical condition, Negombo police said.

The reason for the fire was not established immediately. Several vehicles also damaged in the fire. Police and the fire brigade are investigating.
