Elections Chief can go ahead - Court official

The Elections Commissioner could take steps to hold the Presidential Election in terms of the Presidential Elections Act as there was no order against the Commissioner in the Judgement in the Fundamental Rights application filed by the Ven. Omalpe Sobhitha Thera, Supreme Court officials said.

BOC goes for USD 130m two-year syndicated loan

Bank of Ceylon announced the close of syndication of its USD 130 million two year syndicated term loan facility. The facility was well received by geographically diversed banks from the market, with 14 from Europe, the Middle East, India and Asia committing to the deal, resulting in an over subscription ad the facility being up-sized from USD 75 million to USD 130 million.
