Amunugama in Japan for investment promotion

Finance Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama will leave for Japan today to meet representatives of the Business Chambers of Tokyo and Osaka, with a view of broadbasing investment in Sri Lanka.

Dr. Amunugama is expected to speak on the prospects of investment in Sri Lanka, the facilities provided and the development work in Sri Lanka at these meetings.

He is participating at these meetings on a special invitation of the Japanese government, and is expected to hold special discussions with the Japanese Premier and the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Industries and Trade. The tour is scheduled to end on September 18.
