Junior inventors given space at Techno 2005

THE Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) has called 68 young
inventors who have been selected for the final round of "Junior Inventor
of the year 2005 '"'event to the IESL , in Colombo on Saturday. Chairman
,Young Inventor Competition Committee, Engineer J. Meegoda said that he
received 450 applications for this national event which will be held for
the 19th consecutive year to encourage and appreciate the young and
talented children who wish to pursue engineering as a career.
A panel of judges headed by Chancellor, Moratuwa University, Dr.
Rewatha Wijewardene will select the 10 finalists and they will be
awarded cash prizes and medals.
The winner will be honoured as "Junior Inventor of the Year" and will
be awarded the Gold Medal at the Techno 2005 exhibition which will be
held at the BMICH next month.
The award winning creations of the 10 finalists will also be
displayed at the exhibition. The IESL has sent invitations to all the
schools for them to be enable to visit the exhibition. The event
coincids with the centenary celebrations of the IESL to be held in
January 2006. |
