Sunday Observer Journalist dead

Senior Journalist Anton Nonis, who was attached to the Sunday Observer, passed away at the age of 58, on Tuesday.

Anton Nonis served ANCL for more than 20 years. He was the Sunday Observer journalist covering the Shipping, Aviation, Defence and Transport rounds.

Called affectionately as 'Anta' by his colleagues, Anton Nonis was a devout Catholic and a humble and amiable personality.

He leaves behind his wife Pearl, son Randika and daughter Shavini.

Cortege leaves residence No. 51/14, Templers Road, Mount Lavinia at 4 p.m. today for burial at the Roman Catholic Section, General Cemetery, Mount Lavinia. (AP)
