PM to open National Electricians Conference in September
A fair proportion of the 7000 strong National Electricians Society
are expected to converge on the National Youth Services Council
Auditorium and Complex to attend the first ever national electricians
conference.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse shall ceremonially open the
conference, hosted by Sri Lankan owned Orange Solutions, leader in
lighting and electrical systems.
A full day event, the conference aims at upgrading the skill and
knowledge of local electricians while recognizing ingenuity and quality
performance at an award ceremony to be held later in the day. The
sessions will focus on technical knowledge transfer and theory,
advancements in technology and its applications in the field.
Another aim of the conference is to recognize the yeoman service and
assistance rendered by electricians in the aftermath of the tsunami,
thereby helping thousands gain essential electrical services at a time
of great national importance, said Ananda Rajapakse, CEO, Orange, adding
that electricians still not registered with the National Electricians
Society can do so now. Application should be sent to Orient Electrical
Systems, No 34, Old Road, Nawinna, Maharagama. |
