Workshop on European market access requirements for food sector
THE Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in association with the Centre for
Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI), Netherlands is
organising a workshop on European Market Access Requirements for the
Food Sector from October 3 to 5, 2005, at the Trans Asia Hotel, Colombo.
The resource persons for the seminar are Alfons van Duijvenbode and
Ir. J. A. M. (Hans) Klerken from CBI, Netherlands.
The objectives of this workshop are to review the present status of
quality control in the food processing industry, assess the perception
and awareness levels of modern quality concepts with special reference
to HACCP, and to identify issues and constraints in the wider adoption
of HACCP and to suggest strategies to address such issues.
CBI's mission is to contribute to the economic development of
developing countries by strengthening the competitiveness of companies
from those countries on the EU market. Training programmes are one of
CBI's main tools in the field of capacity building.
They are aimed at two client groups: Business Support Organisations (BSOs)
and Exporters. Through its knowledge of the markets and its long years
of experience, CBI is able to provide guidance and market entry services
to companies in gaining access to, maintaining and expanding market
share on the EU markets. |
