Central Province Women's Chamber wins Best Nucleus 2005

The Central Province Women's Chamber of Small Industries and Commerce emerged winner at the Nucleus 2005 event held for the encouragement of small and medium scale entrepreneurs in the Kandy, Matale, Nuwara Eliya and Badulla districts.

The Nucleus approach is implemented by the Sri Lankan German Economic Strategy Support Programme (ESSP) Kandy in collaboration with Chambers of Commerce with the aim of promoting micro, small and medium enterprises.

The Central Province Women's Chamber of Small Industries and Commerce operates eight Nuclei in beauty culture, textile and tailoring, cut foliage, pre-school and catering with the participation of more than 100 women entrepreneurs.

The President of the Central Province Women's Chamber of Small Industries & Commerce, Ms Rosita Samarajeewa said that their main aim was to lead and organize women who have entrepreneurial ability to conduct their own businesses very successfully.

Samarajeewa invited enterprising Women to join the women's Chamber, and welcomed the encouragement given by the Sri Lankan German Economic Strategy Support Programme (ESSP).
