by Ramani Kangaraarachchi
"At a time that IT was in its infant age in Sri Lanka, a young
computer engineer mastered this field in the USA and returned to serve
the motherland with a vision. That was the emergence of hSenid Software
International by Dinesh Saparamadu in 1997.

The company has become a pioneer IT company specialising in human
resource application during a short period of time.
hSenid is today a leading supplier of payroll applications, human
resource management applications, time and expense tracking software,
line stock updates and internet based payroll software in the country
and owned 70 per cent market share locally. Their clients include
several major financial institutions, telecom and insurance companies in
Sri Lanka, Sri Lankan Air and Lucent Technologies Singapore, Todo in
USA.
When dinesh returned to the country in 1996; he found that HR
application area has been neglected and realised that there is a niche
market for this area in the industry. He was able to convince people to
get business but the most difficult thing was to find people to work as
there were no trained people. It was then that his brother Sujith
Saparamadu who is also a computer engineer living in the USA came to Sri
Lanka and trained some people required by him.'
"My mother gave me all the strength to do all these" Saparamadu said
recollecting its humble beginning years ago.
Today he has been able to provide employment to over 125 in his
company in Sri Lanka and has offices in USA, Singapore too supplying
quality software products and services to its customers worldwide.
"There is enormous employment opportunities for young people in the
IT field but they need proper guidance to receive training from
recognised places like the Colombo University he said.
Dinesh has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering and a
Masters of Science in Computer Science from the University of Bridgeport
in Connecticut USA. He began his career with Aetna Life and Casualty,
Connecticut in USA and thereafter worked at Pepsi Cola, Somers as a
software engineer, and was responsible for the successful implementation
of many nationwide information technology projects. Through his wide
experience Saparamadu has expanded hSenid 's focus into mobile
application, and outsourcing other than HR application.
