HRS adds Lanka to their global booking network
One of the world's leading hotels reservation companies, Hotel
Reservation Services (HRS) based in Germany has decided to add Sri
Lankan hotels to their global booking network. According to
Representative HRS, Abdul Razack, the global demand for Sri Lankan
hotels are increasing and this was the reason for the company to include
Sri Lanka hotels in their global listings.

"The recent statistics in the Lankan leisure sector too are positive
and we forecast a greater opportunity in Sri Lanka," he said.
The response for the Sri Lankan Ayurveda industry too is increasing
and the company is also impressed by the Sri Lanka tsunami recovery in
leisure sector. Any hotel classified three star or more could be a
member of the HRS and they would be automatically listed in the HRS
website which is browsed by over 300 million people every month. The
listings would be in 31 languages.
Travellers who book through HRS would not have to pay a signing in
fee or any other charges for booking on line while the hotels would have
to pay a commission to HRS.
Based in Cologne and with a branch office in Shanghai, HRS is also
looking at opening an office in Sri Lanka next year mainly to service
the region. "HRS is already operating in India, Pakistan, Nepal,
Bangladesh and Bhutan. We would be adding Sri Lanka and the Maldives
next year," he said. (SS) |
