Staff tip of over Rs. 95,000 at Elephant Corridor

A repeat guest to "Elephant Corridor" hotel's satisfaction has been reflected by an additional Rs. 95,000 tip to the staff after having paid a bill of Rs.1.3 million which included its own 10% service charge.

This is a manifestation of the capacity of Sri Lankan staff and their ability to handle and completely satisfy the most upmarket and discerning guests.

Having conceptualised the "Elephant Corridor" hotel in Sigiriya more "Elephant Corridor" hotels are planned. New properties are being looked at in the regions of Wilpattu, Horowpotana and Matale.

'Our way' Sanasuma Developments (Pvt) Limited luxury hotel Developers has decided to bring all their hotels under the 'Our Way' brand name.

The management has also announced that with the envisaged expansion, Susanne Filippin has been appointed Deputy Chairman of "Our Way" Sanasuma Developments (Pvt.) Ltd.

The shareholders and directors have been unanimous in this decision.

The company believes that while the Tsunami after effects have been devastating to tourism in the country and region, the recovery will be well on its way when the first of the new 'Our Way' "Elephant Corridor" hotels are opened for the public by the end of 2006.

"We believe in the product Sri Lanka and its people's capability to drive forward upmarket special small luxury hotels and to sustain them even within the existing infrastructure, the spokesperson said.
