China's renowned actress enchanted by Sri Lanka

China's renowned film actress Xu Jinglei who has been appointed Sri Lanka's Tourism Ambassador to China says she is honoured to be picked for the job and would do her atmost to promote Sri Lanka as a viable tourist destination.

In her maiden copy of her pictorial album containing "shots" of her visit to Sri Lanka, Jinglei who is also a talented film directress said she was simply enchanted by the charm and beauty of the island and literally grabbed at the opportunity when the job was offered to her by the Sri Lanka Tourist Board.

She almost went into raptures when describing Sri Lanka's verdant mountains, valleys waterfalls and the lush green tea country not to mention the golden sandy beaches.

Speaking through an interpreter Xu said Sri Lanka was now almost her second home and offered her grateful thanks to the SLTB for the opportunity to do something for a country that captivated her.

Chairman SLTB Udaya Nanayakkara said it was advantageous for their project to have a celebrity promoting Sri Lanka's tourism in a big country like China. This is Sri Lanka's first venture in having a tourist ambassador representing the country.
