Dilan condemns attack on Sudaroli

Ports, Civil Aviation and Information and Media Deputy Minister Dilan Perera in a press release yesterday condemned the recent bomb attack on the "Sudaroli Newspaper" as a barbaric act.

He stated that this attack has a tint of joint conspiracy between terrorist groups in the North and the South who were opposed to inter-communal harmony and media freedom for which the Presidential Candidate Mahinda Rajapakse stands for.

This doubt is further affirmed because an attack of this nature will bolster racial hatred, the benefit of which can be directly used to promote the cause of the Premier's main opponents at the impending Presidential Election, said the media release.

While calling upon the masses to be vigilant against such provocative moves by extremists, Deputy Minister conveyed his sympathies to the "Sudaroli Newspaper", and the victims of the bomb attack and urged the Security Forces to act swiftly to bring the culprits to book.
