'As we see it'

As things are today, the world is in turmoil. Created way above other creations, man has not come to terms on how he should act in accordance with God's commandments.

Blessed with most things and endowed by way of his faculties to think, reason and reflect on what is expected of him.

If he does not fall in line, he can never atone for what he does, and has to reconcile with his creator, and seek his pardon.

Love and compassion, among the human fraternity, does not exist. Murder and mayhem hold sway in this country where once peace and serenity prevailed.

What has come over our homeland? There is no room for man to indulge in thinking or contemplating how he could create better understanding in human relationships. As we slip into a vicious cycle there seems no way for man to resurrect himself from what exists today.

At every turn, we see via the media, how man has degenerated lower than beasts. Murder at its worst and how man reacts thus. Man lives in a world of his own, not knowing nor realizing where he is heading. Avarice and greed apart, love for wealth and power, have taken pride of place over all that is right.

The spate of crimes in the recent past in this country, without any doubt, can be attributed to the greed for money, and more money, the root of all evil.

Those involved will resort to the easiest and quickest way to achieve their objectives. It is important however, to realize, that certain things are just not done. Etiquette demands this of man.

There is nothing to say we could do as our mind dictates us to, notwithstanding the fact that wrong can never be right. We have to be aware of others' rights, as much as we expect others to be aware of our's.

The gifts of God are there for us to enjoy and indulge in, but the limits set by him, have also to be strictly adhered to. Man is frail and weak, hence he has to abide by the commands of his creator, and also by the laws of his country.

We are responsible for our actions. There is no running away from this fact. When man deviates from the path of righteousness, it is he as well as society, who stand to lose. Laws are enforced to create a better nation. And the people, who are its true and patriotic citizens, can only bring this about.

If we are to rise up as a nation, it is the bounden duty of the people to create this, and bring about peace and tranquillity, whereby they could achieve the goal of what this nation is in need of.

As each one of us in our own individual capacity contributes towards this, to reach our cherished goal, let us strive to bring about that much needed peace and contentment among all races and religious sects, and make it in the words of Bishop Herber, a "Land where every prospect pleases" and no way for man to be vile.
