Marakanda to develop software packages

Swedish based IT company, Marakanda Integration Center LTD (MICL),
will provide comprehensive software packages for e-Sri Lanka initiative
in the travel, procurement and logistic sectors in the country.

Sri Lanka is a one of the emerging markets in the region prompted us
to set up a branch one year ago, MICL Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Michael Medin said.
The idea of setting up this Center is to enter the local market to
offer-integrated software packages for procurement and travel management
sectors in the country.
The company is in the process of introducing software packages to
business organisations," he said. The Sri Lankan Centre is operating, as
an outsourcing centre of the Swedish company started seven months ago as
the first branch in the Asian region.
The company is cooperating with Parcelhouse Technology Centre in Sri
Lanka. They deliver software solutions which requires efficient
resources and tools which are Business Process Integration (BPI) and
Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). The reason that Marakanda opened a
Centre in Sri Lanka is due to the high quality skills and Technical
knowledge of the people, the MICL CEO said.
The company has developed integrated software products with
eProcurement and eTravel Management systems for leading global companies
in the world.
Marakanda was formed in 2000 jointly with the Swedish
telecommunication operator Telia and Foreningsbanken. It has 50 per cent
market share of the eProcurement systems within the public sector and is
market leader for complete business travel solutions in Scandinavia. |
