Textile Sector exports up by 9.1% in 2004

Textile sector exports during the year 2004 were US$ 2809 mn., as against US$ 2575 mn in the year 2003 and has indicated an increase of 9.1%. However, the exports during December 2004 were US$ 260 mn as against US$ 273 mn during December 2003 and down by 4.7%. Garments accounted for nearly 94% of total textile sector exports during year 2004.

The total exports for year 2004 were US$ 5757 mn as against US$ 5133 mn in 2003 and up by 12.2%.

The industrial exports for 2004 were US$ 4506 mn in 2004 as against US$ 3977 mn in 2003 and up by 13.3%.
