Moratuwa University Graduation Fashion Show 2005

The University of Moratuwa in collaboration with London College of Fashion will present its first ever Graduation Fashion Show at the Water's Edge on July 20.

The Bachelor of Design Degree Course in Fashion Design and product development has been established in the Department of Textile and Clothing Technology of the University of Moratuwa, with Consultancy assistance from the London College of Fashion of the University of the Arts, London.

The Government of Sri Lanka funds the Consultancy through the Ministry of Industry and Investment Promotion. This program is supported by the Joint Apparel Associations Forum (JAAF) and Rs. 100 Million was allocated at the last budget to improve infrastructure and for an extension.

This event is the first ever instance in Sri Lanka where qualified designers will present their own collections to the world. An audience from all over the world, including celebrities such as Stephen Jones, the millionaire from UK who designs for John Galliano, Givenchy, Hermes and Vivlan Westwood and journalists, Colin McDowell of the Sunday Times London and Brenda Polan of the London Gardlan will be here to celebrate, judge and report on this exciting and momentous occasion.
