Kingsley to exploit EU job market for Lankans

In a far reaching initiative that should augur well for Lankans in the printing and graphic industry, Southern Province Governor Kingsley T. Wickramaratne is currently on a visit to the Netherlands to identify opportunities for both advanced training and employment for Sri Lankans in EU countries.

At present, nearly one thousand Lankan graduates are undergoing training in the Netherlands while a significant number are working in various parts of the EU region. Wickramaratne will seek to forge greater cooperation for expanding current training programs for local graduates and also enhance their prospects for job placement in EU countries.

He will meet with officials of the Ingrin Foundation for International Graphic Training Cooperation, the Royal Graphic Federation of Dutch Employers, the University and Graphic College of Amsterdam, the University and Graphic College of Rotterdam, the GOC Knowledge Centre and various training organisations. He is also scheduled to meet with the mayors of Haarlemmermeer and Velsen.

The Ingrin Institute of Printing and Graphics established in Colombo and celebrated its 10th Anniversary recently was the brainchild of Kingsley Wickramaratne. He was also instrumental in setting up the Ingrin Knowledge Centre in Galle .
