Beware of bogus FEB officials at BIA
The Foreign Employment Bureau has been informed of a fraud being
manipulated at the Bandaranaike International Airport by way of
collecting money illegally from those who return to the country after
completion of their foreign employment.
The racketeers engaged in this fraud use forged identity cards
similar to identity cards issued by the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign
Employment to identify them as bureau officials and collect money
illegally from emigrant workers returning to Sri Lanka at the airport.
They deceive the workers who return to the country saying they are
able to provide different benefits from the Bureau and request money to
provide such benefits. The crooks say they are able to provide welfare
benefits and lottery winnings etc. if they provide money.
The Bureau warns the public to beware of this illegal activity as it
is totally illegal and against the law.
The bureau has not appointed or either given any kind of permission
to any person or any institution to collect money from the emigrant
workers returning to the country. The Foreign Employment Bureau informed
the public to be aware of this illegal activity and inform the Bureau on
2864118 or 2864150 of the activities of these racketeers. |
