CIM receives accolades for marketing excellence
The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka celebrated its tenth
anniversary with pomp and pageantry at the Colombo Plaza on the June 20,
2005. The highlight of this event was the recognition of successful
brands in Sri Lankan business in accordance with the theme for the
celebrations which was CIM Sri Lanka's contribution and drive in
changing the Business Landscape of Sri Lanka during the last decade
through professional marketing input, business organisation and the
training of marketers to be professionals in their field.
International Chairman of CIM International Paul Gostick who was the
chief guest in his address emphasised on the enormous contribution CIM
Sri Lanka Region has made during the last decade in terms of empowering
young professionals to further develop their skills in the marketing
arena.
There were many inspiring and absorbing 'sharing of experiences' made
by past Chairmen of CIM Sri Lanka and eminent personalities from the
industries whose brands were recognised that evening commencing with the
CIM SL Founder Chairman's Eardley Perera address.
During these last ten years CIM Sri Lanka has produced 1830 CIM
graduates, including 152 Chartered Marketers, who continue to make
noteworthy contributions to Sri Lanka's business world as well as
internationally, through their knowledge and expertise.
At present, CIM Sri Lanka also has around 3400 student members who
will eventually add to the important strides that professional marketing
is now taking in the business world of Sri Lanka.
