Hashan needs help
Hashan Sanjeewa aged eight of Dunagaha, Palliyapitiya is suffering
from an acute congenital hearing debility.
He is recommended an early Cochlear Implant Surgery which is
estimated to cost Rs. 2.3 m.
Hashan's parents say they are unable to foot this bill due to their
present economic plight. Therefore, philanthropists and the general
public are requested to assist his cause by sending whatever financial
contribution possible to rectify the deformity.
Contributions could be remitted to Account No. 0840-01458994 at the
Seylan Bank Maradagahamula Branch.
Handing over of houses
The handing over of three houses built with Korean aid to tsunami
victims will be held today in Rathgama Galle under the patronage of
Southern Province Chief Minister Shan Vijayalal de Silva.
Human Rights Commission Secretary Sunil Shantha Ganewatta, Rural
Women's Front Chairperson Sriyani Pathirage and other distinguished
guests will participate.

A special Bodhi-Pooja will be held at Sri Vishnu Devalaya Kandy today
at 5.30 p.m. to invoke the blessings of the triple gem on Mohan
Panabokke, Basnayake Nilame of Sri Vishnu Devalaya and Dedimunda
Devalaya, Aluth Nuwara, the aspirant for the Diyawadena Nilame Post of
the Sri Dalada Maligawa.
commemoration of Mikhail Sholokhov
Russian Centre in Colombo commemorates the birth centenary of the
Nobel Prize Winner and renowned Russian writer Mikhail Sholokhove
tomorrow at 4 pm.
Among the highlights are; a talk by Cyril C. Perera who has introduce
many Russian classics to sinhala reader through his translations.
A short film tiled 'Fate of a man' based on a short story by Mikhail
Sholokov, a book display of the writings of the Russian writer. The
commemoration is organised by the Russian Literary Circle. |
