Permanent appointments

THE Ministry of Health and Uva Wellassa has granted permanent appointments to 500 graduates who completed their training under the government's graduate employment scheme, in various departments attached to the Ministry.

The ceremony to hand over the appointment letters will be held under the patronage of Health, Nutrition and Uva Wellassa Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva at the Colombo New Town Hall at 10 am today.

Of the appointments 415 will receive postings as Assistant Development Officers, 50 as mental health officers, 60 as public liaison officers and 25 as assistant medical engineers.

In addition 50 among those appointed as assistants will serve as assistant development (investigative), another 50 as mental health officers 14 as nutrition assistant officers and legal assistants and 50 as general assistants. Those appointed as mental health officers and provided expert training will be deployed in hospitals islandwide.
