Bomber kills 13 Iraqi police on sports field

Arbil,Iraq, Monday (AFP) suicide bomber killed at least 13 Iraqi traffic police Monday when he rammed an explosives-packed car into them on a sports field in the Kurdish city of Arbil, the latest strike against the country's fledgling security forces.

At least 70 Iraqis have been killed in two days of brazen attacks across the country while US and Iraqi forces are battling insurgents in offensives in the west of the country near the Syrian border.

More than 110 Iraqis were wounded in Monday's attacks alone, straining medical resources in many cities around the country to capacity.
