Russian schols for five tsunami victims
THE People's Friendship University of Russian Foundation will award
five degree scholarships to Sri Lankans who are members of a family
affected by the tsunami catastrophe, an Education Ministry release said
yesterday.
The applicants should be over 25 years by June 15, 2005. They must
possess three Advanced Level passes with proficiency in English and be
of good health.
They will be selected to follow degree courses in the academic
streams of engineering, medicine, agriculture science, physics,
economics, law, philosophy and sociology etc. Selections will be made on
the merits of the Advanced Level passes and an interview.
The selected candidates will be entitled to free educational, hostel
and medical facilities and a monthly allowance of at least 400 Roubles.
Applications close on June 15, 2005. Applications should be addressed
to the Secretary, Ministry of Education (Higher Education Division), No.
18, Ward Place, Colombo 7. The legend "Russian Scholarships to Tsunami
Victims" should be written on the top left hand corner of the envelope.
Applications should be sent under registered cover or may be
delivered by hand at the above address. |
