National Exam for GIT for first time in Sri Lanka

The first examination for the GIT program introduced to the GCE Advanced Level by the Education Ministry as one of its flagship initiatives will take place on August 21.

This exam is targeted at students sitting the Advanced Level examination in April 2006. This is the first time the Government is conducting a National Examination for Information Technology for schoolchildren, an Education Ministry release said.

The Ministry will conduct supportive discussions on the ICT syllabus/curriculum etc to facilitate students sitting for this examination in August, live on Channel 'Eye' every Tuesday commencing May 31 from 9.30-10.30 p.m., with the participation of senior university academics where students viewing the program could inter-act.

A special tabloid in English together with the Daily News will be published every Thursday commencing June 2.

This program will be conducted upto August 16.
