Tsunami Relief Fund for security personnel

THE corporate body for commercial and industrial security, Industrial Security Foundation (Sri Lanka) Inc., has set up a relief fund to provide financial assistance for private security personnel who are victims of the tsunami disaster, states a press release.

Private Security Officers, includes those who are employed in security companies and agencies, and as in-house security in the public and private sector organizations.

A select committee of the security foundation has scrutinised over 200 applications received from the victims of the tsunami devastation, mostly from the Southern Province.

Eligible victims, the next of kin of a deceased Security Officer will receive donation of Rs. 10,000 and a displaced Security Officer with loss and damage to his house and property Rs. 5,000 each. The donations will be made on Saturday May 28 at a ceremony to be held in Colombo.

The Security Foundation will continue to entertain applications from genuine victim's up to May 31.
