Over 5,000 Police personnel during Vesak week

Over 5,000 Police personnel had been deployed in the city of Colombo during the Vesak week to maintain law and order, said Senior DIG Sirisena Herath yesterday.

Several Policemen will be on duty in mufti to arrest any person or persons misbehaving near pandals or any other places in Colombo.

Any complaints during the Vesak week could be made to the Emergency 119 or to the nearest police station, Senior DIG Herath said.
