Four youth escape from LTTE camp

Four youth undergoing arms training at the Sampoor LTTE camp escaped
and surrended to the security forces.
Two youth surrended to the army at the Kaddaiparichan road block on
May 9. According to the youth, they had gone to the LTTE camp for
training about a month ago. As the training was hard and brutal, four of
them had escaped. One was immediately caught by the LTTE.
Another disgusted LTTE trainee had swum to the Norway island close to
the harbour and surrended to the Navy on May 12. He was handed over to
the Harbour Police.
Another LTTE trainee surrended to the army at Kaddaiparichan on May
13 night. This person from Trincomalee who had been forcibly taken away
by the LTTE was chained to prevent from escaping when he refused to
undergo training.
He managed to escape. The four youth were handed over to their
parents on a court order. |
