Better train service for tourism promotion - Anura

The train service is expected to be used as a mode of promoting the tsunami affected local tourism industry, the Daily News learns.

According to the Tourism Ministry sources, new train services will be introduced to areas that have been identified as popular tourist destinations.

Local tourists will be advised to use the train service as a transport mode when travelling to their favourite travel spots.

Meanwhile, discussions are now being held to have a train service between Colombo and Katunayake as well.

The new train service project is presented by the Transport Ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism.
