Sivaram killing : Police work on clues

The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) probing the killing of Dharmaratnam Sivaram, editor of the pro-LTTE TamilNet Website and columnist for Daily Mirror under the pseudonym Taraki, had collected several important clues. "We are working on those clues," CCD Director Senior SP Sarath Lugoda said.

Earlier, the CCD questioned 70 persons and recorded their statements. Three special teams deployed on the direction of IGP Chandra Fernando are investigating based on the clues they have received following recording statements of the 70 persons. The special police team is also investigating to obtain information about the vehicle in which Sivaram had been abducted.

Police recovered the bullet riddled body of Sivaram abducted by an unknown person on Thursday night.

The body was found near the Diyawanna Oya in Battaramulla area.
