SPC suppliers' convention

The eight annual convention of the supplier of drugs to the State Pharmaceutical Corporation will held on July 30, 2005 in Colombo.

The main objective of having this convention is to foster better understanding between the suppliers and the SPC. The Convention will enable the suppliers to interact with one another and with the officials of the Corporation and discuss any problems and difficulties in supplying drugs to the SPC.

The procedures and regulations and other specific requirements pertaining to suppliers and importers will also be discussed by representatives, various government agencies. Useful presentations will be given by renowned speakers.

The SPC will brief the supplier on tender and purchase procedure, documentation. The suppliers could clarify any problems that they may require from the officials. An official of the SPC said that the convention will be beneficial to suppliers as well as to the Corporation. The SPC expect a target audience of around 150 suppliers in the fields of pharmaceutical, surgical, chemicals and other related fields.

The official also mentioned that the Corporation would make use of this opportunity to discuss future plans and other arrangements in consultation with the partners in providing better service to the people of Sri Lanka.
