Court gives judgement in favour of Nirosha Virajini

THE Colombo District Court yesterday gave judgement in favour of singer Nirosha Virajini with her application filed for divorce.

Colombo District Court Judge Mahinda Samayawardana also ordered nisi returnable on August 1.

Virajini Lalitya de Silva of Kelaniya filed the petition for divorce against her husband N. Sampath Ilangakoon of Kandana on the ground of malicious desertion.

In the petition she stated that they married on October 25, 2000 and they later led a life full of quarrels due to various reasons. She said her husband, a Commissioned Army Officer left the country on April 5, 2004 without informing her the reasons. Later she learnt that he returned on July 28, 2004 and was living at Kandana.
