Indian Foreign Secretary in Lanka today
INDIAN Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran will pay a four day official
visit to Sri Lanka from today to May 3.
He will lead the Indian delegation at the Foreign Office
consultations scheduled to be held with the Sri Lankan Government on
Monday, the High Commission of India said.
The talks are expected to review the entire gamut of the
multi-faceted bilateral relations between India and Sri Lanka. Saran
will also call on Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse Foreign Minister
Lakshman Kadirgamar and other Sri Lankan dignitaries.
The Indian Foreign Secretary and his delegation will visit
Trincomalee and Kandy.
In Trincomalee, the Foreign Secretary will visit the Trincomalee
Technical College and Navy House where he will be hosted at lunch by
Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekera, Commander, Eastern Naval Area.
He will travel to Kandy where he will pay his respects to the Sacred
Tooth Relic and also meet Central Province Governor Monty Gopallawa who
will host a dinner in his honour. The delegation will also visit the
historic sites of Sigiriya, Dambulla and Anuradhapura. |
