Obtains Chartered Ship Brokers UK membership

Shalinda Hemal Perera received membership of the Institute of Chartered Ship Brokers UK at the recently held award ceremony of its Sri Lanka Branch.

He was awarded the "Delmege Forsyth" award for the Best Sri Lankan Student in "Shipping practice" and the "P&O Nedlloyd Keells" award for obtaining the highest marks in "Legal principles of shipping". Shalinda is the first Sri Lankan to obtain a Distinction for the subject "Legal principles of shipping".

He was also adjudged by ICS London for his "Overall Best Performance" at the qualifying examinations from Sri Lanka for 2004.

Shalinda is a Director of Wilfred and Co Ltd, Vice President of Sri Lanka Coir and Allied Products Manufacturers Association and a Council Member of the Sri Lanka Shippers Council. He is an Old Boy of St. Joseph's College, Colombo.
