The partnership between DHL and Jayawardana, Sri Lanka's fastest driver among the standard car categories, complements each other, with both parties sharing the same values: "Speed and Reliability." Henceforth, Jayawardana will be engaged in the promotional and advertising campaign for DHL during the year under agreement.

The sponsorship agreement was handed over to Jayawardana by Country Manager DHL Express in Sri Lanka, Chaminda Hewamallika, in the presence of a large gathering of special invitees and sports media personnel at the Waters' Edge in Jayawardhanapura.

Hewamallika said, "DHL is indeed privileged to be associated with a racing car driver of the image and profile of Jayawardana. I am confident this sponsorship will be beneficial to both parties. With this sponsorship, DHL Sri Lanka further strengthens the company's overall commitment to fostering sporting talent around the world."

Commenting on the sponsorship by DHL, Jayawardana said, "I am particularly happy and proud to embark on this new association with an international brand like DHL. Speed binds us together and this will certainly be a thrillingly formidable partnership."

31-year-old Dinesh Jayawardana is a dynamic and exceptionally talented racing driver who is set to be Sri Lanka's next Formula Ford Champion. Introduced to the world of motor sports at the age of nine by his father Mana Jayawardana, 'DJ', as he is better known, has excelled in motor sports ever since.

In addition to stock car racing in the Honda V-tech, Jayawardana is also one of the main championship contenders in the Formula Ford 1600cc series. Royal College educated Jayawardana is currently a director at Auto Force (Pvt) Ltd.

DHL continues its association with the world's sports arena being this year's logistics partner for Formula 1 around the world. Coinciding with the first race of the Formula 1 season in Australia, early last month, DHL has further expanded its service for the world's most popular sport. It will now set up a mobile logistics centre at all nineteen international race tracks, in addition to providing a 24h express service.

The services provided by DHL at the logistics centre at the racetracks, extends beyond the dispatching of items, with on-site teams and service providers being able to use completely different DHL services from a single source - from packing express parcels, to insurance and customs clearance, to dispatch.
