D.S. Principal interdicted

The Education Ministry yesterday interdicted the principal of D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo on the recommendation of the Presidential Investigation Unit investigating into malpractices in the admission of students to Grade One.

An Education Ministry press release stated that Asoka Senani Hewage, the principal of D.S. Senanayake College, has been interdicted with immediate effect.

Prasanna Udumuhandiram, who is now functioning as the Vice principal of Royal College, and a Grade Two officer of the Education Administrative Service has been appointed as the new principal of the school.

The Presidential Investigation Unit has concluded that the school principal has admitted students violating the circular regarding the admission of students.
