American Express ties up with Commercial Bank

American Express Cardmembers could now settle their monthly bills at any Commercial Bank branch under an agreement signed between Nations Trust Bank and Commercial Bank.

"We entered into this agreement with Commercial Bank in order to offer American Express Cardmembers an additional convenience and to add value to the American Express card" said the CEO of Nations Trust Bank Zulfiqar Zavahir at the signing up ceremony.

American Express Cardmembers could now pay their bills at any one of the 26 Nations Trust Bank Branches 365 days of the year as well as at any one of the Commercial Bank's 126 branches including MiniCom Centres at selected Cargills Food City outlets , and Service Points at Arpico Malls islandwide.

Managing Director of Commercial Bank Amitha Gooneratne said that "with the largest computer linked network of branches and ATMs, it is our policy to maximise the usage of the network to benefit all those holding credit cards though not necessarily issued by us."

American Express cardmembers could also settle their bills through any Commercial Bank Automated Teller machine or online via "Combank Online" if the card member is also a Commercial Bank customer.
