KOICA Fellows donates a house

On the request of the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA), the Association of Korea Fellows in Sri Lanka (KOICA) along with some local donors have provided funds to provide shelter for M.D. Malani and her children. She with her school going child and mentally retarded two brothers was living in a dilapidated temporary structure adjoining Rahulpura Housing Project at Rahulpura, in Maharagama electorate.

The NHDA utilising these funds under its Sevana Sarana program has constructed the house with a floor area of 400 sq.ft. at a cost of around one and half lakhs.

The KOICA fellows affirms that based on the experience gained through the construction of this house, they intend to construct many more houses aimed at very deserving families in the future.

The representative of KOICA Agency in Sri Lanka Ms. Yu, President Buddhi Passaperuma, NHDA, General Manager, Piyal Ganepola and several invitees participated at the ceremony to hand over the key to M.D. Malani.
