Ernst and Young sign MOU for help desks
Ernst and Young Sri Lanka supported by Ernst and Young Global are
setting up "Help Desks" at the offices of Ernst and Young - Galle,
Matara and Hambantota to assist businesses affected by the December
tsunami. To also assist businesses in the Kalutara District, Ernst and
Young is exploring the feasibility of obtaining rented premises close to
the Kalutara Chamber of Commerce.
Ernst and Young Global and Ernst and Young Sri Lanka recently signed
a MOU with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) on the functioning of
"Help Desks". The Chambers of the Kalutara, Galle, Matara and Hambantota
regions will be provided with details of services offered by the "Help
Desks".
The Chambers of Commerce in the identified regions will direct
entrepreneurs to the respective "Help Desk".
The services offered would be on a "no fee basis", and services
outside the scope of the functions of the "Help Desk" would be offered
to entrepreneurs on a concessionary basis, and provided by the staff of
Ernst and Young. This project will be initially for a period of three
months. During the first month of operations, the needs of the project
would be assessed and workshops would be organised to meet the specific
needs. |
