JS School of Cricket on tour to Bangalore

The Jayantha Seneviratne School of Cricket which has been making great strides will give their young cricketers the much needed experience when they go on tour to Bangalore.

The school's under-15 team led by Naveed Ghany and the under-19 team led by Anoj Katipearachchi will tour Bangalore from April 16 to 28 and play in the All India Pepsi Tournament for the Hewlett Packard Trophy.

The tour has been made possible by former Pakistan opening batsman, captain and wicket keeper Imtiaz Ahamed.

The Lankan youngsters will play against schools and academies. A committee of management headed by former Zahira and Moors cricketer Ashrof Ghany worked hard to see to the success of the tour.

Young cricketers need foreign exposure to further enhance their game, and this tour would certainly serve the purpose.

Incidentally the Jayantha Seneviratne School which was founded in 1996 started with 42 very junior 9-year-old cricketers and has now grown up to 250 cricketers of all age groups upto under-19. The tour party will consist of 16 members in the age groups of under-15 and 19.
