Solo piano performance in aid of tsunami victims

A young talented pianist, Rekha Lokukketagoda, recently performed at the Klaus Oldendorff Auditorium, CINEC maritime Campus, Malabe in aid of tsunami victims.

Rekha, a past pupil of Musaeus College, Colombo, last year obtained her licentiate of Institute of Western Music and Speech (IWMS), Sri Lanka, in Pinoforte performance. She also holds Diploma of the London College of Music. She is a pupil of Mrs. Shiranthi Asirwatham (LTCL, LRSM ).

The Chief Guest at the event was Mrs. Mary Fernando, Hony. President of the IWMS, and the Guest of Honour was Mr. Alan Robertson, Principal, Australian College of Business and Technology.

The significance of the performance was that Rekha entertained the distinguished audience by playing selected compositions from Baroque era to New Age.

All the donations were handed over to a staff member and his family of CINEC Maritime Campus, who lost his house and all belongings due to Tsunami.

The event was sponsored by the CINEC Maritime Campus.
